Each match-up - some trivial, some not - represents a struggle for the upper hand. In the latter, one simple tool can tip the balance in your favor.

iGo products use interchangeable power tips that allow one adapter to keep all your devices charged and ready for use. Standard electrical outlets, automobile lighters, and even some airplane seats can fuel your laptops, MP3 players, cell phones, digital cameras and more.

The iGo products come in a variety of bundles (and prices) and will greatly simplify the life of a frequent traveler.

Let the others keep tangling - you finally can negotiate a piece-a-cord.

Saks Fifth Avenue at Polaris received two bags over the weekend, we believe one Jasmine and one Lys (the two styles currently available). Additional styles should hit stores at the beginning of July.

As of last night, both bags were in stock and available. But hurry, they could disappear at a moment’s notice.

Tour: the annual Parade of Homes starts this weekend for its two week run. Tonight, the BIA hosts a preview party with proceeds benefiting Nationwide Children’s Hospital and other charities. Prove them right - if they build it…. Information and tickets available at biaparade.com.

Hunt: bargain shoppers should not miss the Short North’s sidewalk sale on Saturday. Look for amazing deals on clothes, beauty products, gifts and much more. You never know what’s in store (or in this case, on sidewalk). Information at shortnorth.org.

Snoop: satisfy the inner-voyeur in you by touring the 17 properties on this year’s City Hop. You’ll get a peek at how the urban-half lives. The only thing better would be CMH Cribs. Information and tickets at columbuslandmarks.org.

Explore: head over to Yellow Springs for their Saturday Street Fair. Over 200 vendors will offer food, jewelry, art, candles and imported goods. It will be worth the trip (in every sense of the word). Information at yellowspringsohio.org.

Peace, out.

Cheer him up with a new shirt from famed Parisian maker Boege or a pair of pants from Bonobos. After all, bright is the new black.

For the guy who tackles any challenge head-on, pick out something from Canterbury of New Zealand (limited styles available at Nordstrom’s at Easton). He’ll get a kick out of the cool rugby style.

Or for something far less City Slicker, check out the leather Ammunition Belt from Billy Reid. Maybe a bit extreme for daily wear, but hey, he can give it a shot.

Entertain Dad for hours with the Dangerous Book for Boys (available at local bookstores, or click on the link to go to Amazon). But be prepared - he just might try to teach you a thing or two.

Always on the run? Get Dad an all leather Chess and Checker Board Set from Mulholland Brothers (Backgammon set also available). It rolls and ties for games on the go (just like him).

And speaking of rolling, keep him looking sharp with the new Rolling Razor. It’s the ringer of the list.

Make life a little sweeter with a box of goodies from local favorite Loralie’s Brownies. So moist……..

Finally, give Dad a new best friend with a rescued dog from the Capital Area Humane Society or Franklin County Dog Shelter. Life can be so ruff.

Well, a new player entered the field over the weekend. One hoping to plant itself firmly in the hearts of ShoNo shoppers.

Rose Bredl opened its doors this past Saturday in the former Little Shop of Shoes location. With a simple yet sophisticated style, the store offers plants, small gifts, wonderful potting vessels and more.

Fans of all things flora might recognize a few things - Rose Bredl also shared space with Found in Powell. If you have visited that location in the “GNWT” (Great Northwest Territory), you know it has big shoes to fill…

Stop by and support the store - we don’t want it to leaf us.

Rose Bredl, 664 North High Street, Columbus, OH
