‘Wich Doctor
The good folks at Katzinger’s (highlighted links) informed me that today is National Sandwich Day. And to celebrate, they will offer two specials in the spirit of this year’s election - The Maverick (hot slow-cooked brisket with tangy BBQ sauce, cole slaw and swiss cheese on a Kaiser role) and The Change (hot corned beef, swiss cheese, spicy mustard on pumpernickel).
If you can’t make it to Katzinger’s today, other Columbus area sandwiches that deserve recognition (in no particular order) include: pulled pork with tri-color slaw at Tasi, chicken and prosciutto panini at Bodega, #6 Duval Street vegetarian Monte Cristo at Banana Bean Cafe, pesto chicken at Press Grill, Cuban sandwich at Starliner Diner, sausage sub with banana peppers at Rubino’s, Village Addiction (smoked turkey and havarti with cranberry mayo grilled on sourdough) at The Brown Bag, chicken club at Black Creek Bistro, King’s braised BBQ pork at Northstar Cafe, Tip Top pot roast at Tip Top, blackened chicken at Oscar’s, Diavola (chicken cutlet, roasted eggplant, tomato, pesto and provolone) at Giuseppe’s, fig and prosciutto at Cafe Corner, and chicken salad at Shane’s Gourmet Market.
Live up to your bread winner status - eat a sandwich today!
