We Love Hicks
Pack your bags, it is time to visit the Hicks.
No, we’re not touring the country’s indoor water parks. Nor are we attending an LSU Football reunion. (Don’t be such a drongo.)
We are off to Boston to visit Gilly Hicks, the newest brand from Columbus’ own Abercrombie & Fitch.
Gilly Hicks, located in the upscale Natick Collection, brings Aussie-inspired casual wear and undies to the sheilas of the USA. Early reports say the store is a bobby dazzler. Check out the (NSFW) promotional video at gilleyhicks.com for some swimming in the nuddy.
After hitting the biggies at Natick, Boston’s boutiques will leave you equally chuffed. Dress stocks the latest from 3.1 Philip Lim, Vanessa Bruno, Lofli, Wayne, and much more. Blokes need to look no further than the legendary Louis Boston (stop by the grooming salon on the third floor for a Dad ‘n Dave). And for the nippers back home, Tadpole carries the city’s most adorable clothes, toys, and gear - including Bugaboo prams.
Feeling peckish after all the shopping? Stephanie’s on Newbury reigns as the quintessential lunch spot for tourists and locals alike. Later, head to South End for a selection of Boston’s finest restaurants. Start the evening at B&G Oysters for super fresh seafood, or for bistro grub, Franklin Cafe or Gaslight. End the night at Beehive for drinks and jazz, cabaret or burlesque - you will almost certainly stumble home plonked.
Speaking of home (away from home), check in to the sophisticated and stylish XV Beacon hotel - always voted one of the city’s best. For another boutique experience for a few less dollars, try grabbing some shut eye at the Nine Zero hotel in downtown’s Ladder District. Or, for those flush with quids, book a room at Taj Boston, the city’s Grand Dame property with a traditional and classic style.
From go to whoa, you’ll be a happy little Vegemite.
